Scotland’s longest river and the UK’s largest river by volume of discharge. These facts go some way to explaining its importance for rafting – reliable water levels throughout the year. A great fun, scenic introduction to rafting, including the Grandtully rapids.
The Tummel has a lot going for it. Located near Pitlochry, Perthshire and just off the main A9, it’s a dam-controlled river offering predictable releases and so is not rainfall-dependent. It culminates in the Grade IV “Linn of Tummel” double-drop waterfall.
The featured rivers are the most popular due to reliability of water levels. Scotland has a number of excellent rafting rivers of all types and grades, however many are very much rainfall dependent. For group bookings we offer trips all around Scotland to suit location and requirements, from easy trips on the Spey or Dee (similar in nature to the Tay) to adventurous white-water on the Garry, Orchy, Braan or Findhorn, or full-on dam-release on the Moriston.
We are all passionate about what we do and offer a wealth of experience gained in Scotland and around the world, combined with a commitment to provide the best outdoor experiences available in Scotland.
Your safety is paramount to us which is why we are committed to only employing highly experienced guides and instructors. Our customers are supplied with all the necessary safety equipment ensuring you have a safe and enjoyable experience.
Our rafting base is at the Scottish Canoe Association activity and camping site, just metres away from Scotland’s national canoe and slalom competition site on the Grandtully rapids.
Changing facilities, with toilets and hot showers are available on-site.
River Tay rafting trips are the most popular in Scotland, but note that meeting points for other rivers and activities will vary, depending on your booking.
